Single-wavelength transcutaneous bilirubinometers carry documented systematic error related to skin pigmentation and dermal thickness, limiting their reliability across diverse neonatal populations. The DAVID detector applies a dual optical-path, dual-wavelength measurement principle that simultaneously corrects for melanin content and dermis thickness, supporting transcutaneous bilirubin (TcB) as a reliable screening tool. The device supports up to 2,000 measurements per charge and stores multi-patient datasets for trend tracking at the point of care.
