Respiratory Support & Ventilation

COMEN VN-8-HFO

Neonatal ventilator with integrated HFOV (5-15 Hz) alongside SNIPPV, NIPPV, NCPAP, and HFNC – oscillatory escalation without a separate device.

Severe neonatal respiratory failure, air-leak syndromes, and PPHN often require escalation beyond conventional ventilation, and HFOV access has historically meant acquiring a separate, specialized oscillator. The VN-8-HFO integrates HFOV (sub-deadspace tidal volumes at 5-15 Hz) within a neonatal-native platform that also supports SNIPPV, NIPPV, NCPAP, and HFNC, allowing clinicians to escalate or de-escalate respiratory strategy on the same device. Apnea detection and automatic leakage compensation are built into the neonatal modes.

  • Integrated HFOV on a neonatal-native platform – Oscillatory ventilation available within the same device as conventional neonatal modes; no equipment change at escalation.
  • Sub-deadspace tidal volumes at 5-15 Hz – Decouples oxygenation and ventilation from high-pressure conventional cycling.
  • Full conventional mode suite – SNIPPV, NIPPV, NCPAP, and HFNC on the same platform.
  • Neonatal-specific safety functions – Apnea detection and automatic leakage compensation built into the neonatal modes.
  • Single device from non-invasive to oscillatory support – removes the standalone-oscillator capital and maintenance burden.
  • 8-inch LED touch screen – single interface across all modes.
  • AC and DC power with internal battery backup.

Used across non-invasive and invasive neonatal ventilation, including escalation to HFOV in severe respiratory failure, air-leak syndromes, and PPHN. Enables strategy transitions between NCPAP, HFNC, NIPPV, SNIPPV, conventional invasive ventilation, and HFOV on a single platform.
